In the Ancient Greece, the people followed a religion polytheist, in other words, they believed in several gods. These, in spite of they be immortal, they possessed characteristics of behaviors and attitudes similar to the human beings: Cruelty, kindness, selfishness, weakness, forces, revenge and other characteristics were present in the gods, according to the old Greeks. In agreement with this people, the divinities inhabited Monte Olympus' top, from where decided the humans' life. Zeus ( Ζεύς) was it of larger importance, considered the divinity seprema of the Greek pantheon. They also believed that, a lot of times, the gods got off the sacred hill for they be related with the people. In this sense, the heroes were the children of the divinities with the common human beings. Each city of Old Greece possessed a protecting god.
Each divine entity represented forces of the nature or human feelings. Poseidon, for instance, was the representative of the seas and Aphrodite the goddess of the corporal beauty and of the love. The Greek mythology was last in father's oral way for son and, a lot of times, it was to explain phenomena of the nature or to pass life pieces of advice. When invading and to dominate Greece, the Romans absorbed the Greek pantheon, just modifying the gods' names.
